Learn how to share the good news in innovative ways
At The Light College, all of our courses are designed to prepare our students to share the good news of Jesus in the most innovative and context-sensitive ways, while at the same time nurturing a deep devotional life and a good grounding in theology. We are an approved academic partner of The University of Chester and all of our lecturers are university approved, with a wide range of experience and practical knowledge, passionate about their faith.
Study part- or full-time from anywhere in the UK
Study can be done either part- or full-time, and can be accessed from anywhere in the UK as all lectures are taught during six residential weekends.
We accept students from a wide variety of backgrounds, ages and academic ability
Our students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and ages. We offer good academic and pastoral support, so don’t let concerns about academic ability prevent you from exploring further – the main thing we look for is a sense of vocation and a sincere heart to share the gospel.
‘Hope Bringers’ Online Short Course
Be a ‘bringer of hope’ in a time of fear
As people emerge from lockdown with big questions about life and purpose, discover how to use your God-given creativity to introduce them to Jesus. The course will be held over 7 hour-long sessions in September and October, and will be led by Rev Chris Duffett, Co-Principal of The Light College, and hosted by Rev Simon Goddard from RiverTree. To find out more and to book your place, visit the RiverTree website.
Alpha Courses
Getting started with God
Alpha is a series of interactive sessions, usually run over 9-12 weeks, that creates a space, online or in person, where people are excited to bring their friends for a conversation about faith, life and God. People can freely explore the basics of the Christian faith. Last year, approximately 30,000 churches and organisations ran Alpha with over 1.3 million participants.
As part of The Light College and Collective‘s Fresh Expression The Net we run rolling Alpha Courses – where when one stops another starts. These are currently run entirely online, so wherever you are you could join us.
There’s no cost, no pressure, and no follow-up if you decide after the first session not to come back.
Alternatively, if you’d prefer, you can join one of the many other online Alpha courses run through Alpha’s partner organisations.
